The T.R.E.E.S. Field Station

Your Classroom

Programs are offered at our partner facility, the T.R.E.E.S. Research Centre in Belize. Nestled in the Maya Mountains, students have 200 acres of rainforest and riverine habitats to explore. An extensive trail network provides access to diverse field sites, creating a living classroom where students can observe wildlife, explore biodiversity, and develop practical skills in ecology and conservation.

Overview

Faculty-led field courses are designed for educational institutions looking to add a tropical field biology component to their curriculum. Your institution/organization determines the course content and Ecorana handles the program development, logistics, and travel arrangements. Minimum group size: 8 students, typical maximum: 30 students + 3 professors. Larger groups can be accommodated by arrangement.

Logistics

Ecorana assists with budget planning, accommodation bookings, transportation, tours/excursions, course-related activities, and on-site & off-site logistics. Ecorana also works closely with other tour providers, parks, and stations across the country and can assist in arranging additional activities and excursions.

Field Support & Equipment

Ecorana biologists can provide additional teaching and field support, including local expertise in Belizean flora and fauna. Lab equipment and space can also be provided at an additional cost

Costs

Program Costs: $55-$225 USD/student/day

Biologist Support:
– $150 USD/day at T.R.E.E.S.
– $200 USD/day away from T.R.E.E.S.

Equipment: $5 USD/student/day
